Work is underway for my Otakon cosplay! I have officially decided on being Officer Jenny. I have the base of my hat done and a pencil skirt pattern drafted. I'm going to make a mock up of the skirt and make a few tweaks if need be. I'm thinking the back will need deeper darts. After finish the final form of the pattern, I'll go to the fabric store for supplies. I'm thinking a cotton twill. I swear I use that stuff for everything. My Jubilee coat is made out of it, as well as the skirt thing for my Sasha Braus cosplay. But it's a good weight for what I want, comes in a ton of colors, and will probably be cheaper than suiting. Man, what a neglected site! I haven't been on here in months. Months and months and months. Time for blurbs. I really need to get pictures of my cosplays I swear. I wasn't too happy with how my latest costume turned out. I was Sasha from Attack on Titan and the straps were just not good. My friend really wanted to do the costumes and I ended up doing a lot of the work and he picked out the material for the straps. Don't make your harness out of elastic is what I'm saying. So I'm cosplaying Jubilee from X-Men for Otakon. The original plan was to cosplay Asami from the Legend of Korra. But I've really gotten into X-Men and while I love Asami and think her hair and makeup is really pretty, she wears pants, most likely made of a thick material, tucked into boots, with a jacket. I'm much less likely to die of heat stroke in Jubilee's tank top, shorts, and cuffed jacket. For the tank top, I'll probably get a few from Wet Seal and take advantage of their 5/$25 deal on basics.
